Surrealism, abstract, landscape, portraits, social commentary
G.E.W. Shepherd has been a artist for many years. He has worked in most graphic and painting media but now concentrates on photography and digital art. He is also a writer of poetry and prose - much of this work being highly experimental. His writing and much of his art work has a strong surrealistic element, although he is also attracted to landscapes, animals and the human figure. Instinctively drawn to the principles of Jainism since a child, he is passionately interested in animal welfare and wildlife conservation and his political views lean heavily to the left. This is sometimes reflected in his work.
