About Barrington G

"My work means a lot to me because it relaxes me and makes me happy when I am sad. I find that painting open my mind and help me in expressing myself.

The figure / objects in my painting represent my experience growing up in Jamaica and England. The figure of the man climbing the tree reminds me when I was young and I use to climb various fruit tree to pick fruits and seed. The birds and fishes represent freedom and world peace for everyone. The figures of the men playing different musical instruments represent me as an up-coming musician.

It is important for others to see my painting because I would like to be seen as a role model so that others can get experience or inspiration from my work.

I have been painting for 15 years but the first 5 years was not great. Then I went into hospital were I started art therapy course. I find the course very interesting and I have developed skill which has helped me in painting. From then I have not stop painting.

I love my painting very much and I am pleased that I have accomplished something out of life. Painting gives me great pleasure, experience and a way of expressing my self an experience in life."

The figures and birds that you draw in your art work are interesting to look at against the background of buildings ,bridges, greenery etc.I think that your drawings are really good. Your abstract paintings are very honest examples of art made for therapy.
