Chloe Shalini
Visionary or lunatic oil & acrylic painter
I started painting in oils at 15 due to the artist Tamara de Lempicka, went onto A-level but left art training there as I didn't think I was creative enough. Art at the Mexico Gallery in Belsize Park, London (now closed) really inspired me, and it is here that I got an idea about the Outsider/Art Brut artists. Things have moved on quite a bit since I was last here...a lot of ups & downs but definitely taking shape. Currently working on a new website: www.lovelightart.com, also featuring pen artist, Johnny Hole. I have two branches to my work, the esoteric or spiritual and the naturalistic/realism which I enjoy as a change of style & focus. My influences are particularly Dali, Frieda Kahlo, & Chagall. I'm still working on building up a coherent body of work and know mine can confuse since the styles are very varied. I've been experimental in style as a means to teach myself to paint, but also because different styles help create different moods/feeling. In August 2005 I held one exhibition in the Radlett Arts Centre, Herts, and have sold a few and done a few commissions since. In 2007 I started helping Johnny with exhibiting and a website, more recently I've felt confident enough to do the same for myself. Now showing in Gallery Cafe Bethnal Green 'til May 30th. Outside-in has played a significant part in building that confidence. (http://www.lovelightart.com)

Chloe I think your work is brilliant,it evokes a sense of well being in me and I love the mysticism, Strong, vivid and emotional but without being mawkish.
Keep going Chloe its great stuff and caught my eye as soon as I opened the Outside in web site.
