A reinterpretation of the old master piece, giving it a modern finish. This work if properly displayed is hung up in a fashion that allows the viewer to walk around it. It is a temporal piece with an element of risk. The work is oiled and therefore cannot be prevented from the reaction of this medium. That is the same risk as war. To go to war, for cultures to fight is a risk,and often one with a great cost. It is also a feature of human culture.

cougar gallery is a pun on the changing position of women and men in society. In this fantasy the women are successful and can afford to get what they want. In this fantasy gallery the women are viewing paintings of men in the fantasy garden.

The men in fantasy garden as in the painting 'Cougar gallery'. They are preparing for something.....the finished narrative is left open for the viewer to complete. In fact the viewer can make this fantasy image into anything they want, an open narrative.

an open narrative using the figure and landscape to depict a story of the human capacity to kill it's own. The work is a temporal image because of the oil involved. This is no accident, but intentional. As the work ages, the oil will be the key to what happens. A risk I took to highlight the similar risk humanity takes every time it takes to an aggressive action, whether for good or bad.
