Drawing Insight

Outside In and University of Chichester collaboration

Outside In and University of Chichester have been working in collaboration to deliver the Insight Partnership 2017. The project brings together an Outside In artist and two recent graduates of the MA Fine Art programme at the University of Chichester.

Three artists were selected to participate in the Insight Partnership; Deborah Petch and Rachel Redfern, recent graduates of the MA Fine Art programme at the University of Chichester and Yvonne J Foster, a Brighton-based Outside In artist. Rachel has been working in the capacity of project facilitator - a role that was crucial when the pilot took place in 2014.

Working collaboratively since October 2016, the artists have shared their practice and experience of each other’s way of working. Together and separately, Deborah and Yvonne have created new and insightful artworks whilst maintaining a dialogue about their artistic practice and the art world more generally.

The collaboration culminates with Drawing Insight, a free exhibition in the Studio at Pallant House Gallery from 1 - 26 March 2017.

Filmmaker Rosie Powell has been capturing the partnership as it has developed. Her short film will also be included as part of the exhibition. There will also be a number of written responses to the artwork by MA Creative Writing students from the University of Chichester.

This Insight Partnership builds on the successful pilot which took place in 2014 and is delivered thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
