Outside In

I am a painter working and living in Cornwall. I have a spinal condition, a fracture of the lower back and spinal curvature,resulting in my being recognised as a disabled person and presently too ill to be employed. I am so relieved that I can release through painting's cathartic nature some of the pain that I experience day to day. I have volunteered to help people suffering from dementia at a near by day centre, unfortunately this is an informal arrangement as my disability prevents me from standing for any length of time before I have to rest, although sitting is also extremely painful! So painting is one of my only escapes. I love painting and am very grateful that I can be involved in something so fulfilling and healing.
