Although I have a national diploma in design and a diploma in interior design, since leaving university I decided to become an artist. I am a self taught painter and range from purely abstract to realism, this variety of different styles and subject matter is what drives my work. I am constantly changing styles and have a diverse portfolio. My work is about the relationship between man and woman, mental illness, and abstract compositions.as well as different levels of abstraction of the human form. All my work is oil paint on canvas. Between man and woman.

This piece is all about levels of abstraction and colour it shows a connection between the male figure and the female this is symbolized with the sun that has grown between them. -
Female nude (towards the light).

Influenced by the colours of cubisum, however I wanted to show more realism and intouduce the element of the light in this piece. -

The first of the composition series, this painting is all about balance and being dynamic ranging from hot to cold in colour with neutral grey background. -

The first of the series.This painting is inspired by the work of Mondrian and my own experience with technical drawing. The inital drawing being spontaneous and then the relationship of five colours and what I call accent lines. -

This is a portrait of an old friend and emphasises her struggle with mental illness. -
Composition no.3.

The third in the composition series this piece is about red, yellow and orange with a cream background. The shapes are held together with thin black lines and is in the landscape format. -
A connection.

This painting is about a relationship between a man and a woman. The abstract lines in the middle of the image symbolize the joining of the couple and the love they have for one another.The colours are a simple relationship of purple and blue. -
Depression.

This image is an abstract depiction of a seated figure symbolizing being introvert and simplified into basic shapes and the mood is represented by the use of colour and the expression lines. -
Demons in the paint no.3.

All about hallucinations and the use of an abstract configuration to then be looked into and with the use of simple eyes and teeth the picture reveals faces and hidden imagery. -
Between logic and creative.

This painting is my idea of being influenced by two separate sides of the brain. Logic on the left in brown to gold and Creative on the right in shades of green. The central figure being divided by a vertical line. this is taking abstraction to a level where only hints of reality are visible. -

An extremely moving collection of art works depicting poignant moments in the lifetime of this artist. I particularly like 'Female Nude', 'Sally Ann', 'Demons in the Paint' and 'Dancer' although I find all of these paintings inspiring. The artist shows his diversity and obvious technical ability through the range of paintings and depth of subject matter.
