Last may 2010 I was a student nurse undertaking my final year placement and after many months of going up and down I finally hit a severe low. It lasted months and I was already on mood stabilisers and “as required” anti psychotics at the time. The weeks continued to pass as the depression gradually improved somewhat, when one sunny day, I decided to paint a picture. Since then, I become addicted to painting. I joined AIM's (a local service user art group) and with their advice, I learned how to paint like myself as opposed to trying to be like others. It is only over the last few months that I have started to find my artistic style.
It is who I am. A painter. I like to write, think, create and express. It is how my mind works. I am an outsider artist and I want my work to be seen, appreciated and known. My paintings, writings and works are my thoughts which will live after I am gone.
