Robin Heath's dioramas were brought to the attention of Outside In by his sister, this is her introduction to his work:
"As far as I can remember my brother was always into model making. These battlefield landscapes that he created always intrigued me. The detail he put into every soldier, the painstaking effort that went into making the dioramas impressed me greatly. I always wondered how anyone could have the patience to create something so intricate.
All the diorama’s seen here were made by him throughout his adult life during his stay in forensic units. He did have help making the outer wooden structure, but he did all the work from painting the soldiers to placing them in the battle scene. I can now only imagine what he got out of creating something so detailed – immersing himself in the creativity, satisfaction of a job well done and the sense of achievement.
He recently passed away aged 55 from cancer wanting the recognition for his amazing work and I am very grateful and very happy that I can do this for him now posthumously. I hope you enjoy them as much as me."

It is obvious that these models took time to construct. This work should probably be housed in a museum.

It is such a delight to know that other's can finally see Robins work. I was very fortunate to see Robin's diorama's when after years of storage he had them displayed on his wall. Robin was an extremely talented man who's attention to detail and dedication was amazing.
