Art = Life
Kelly Boyle, a self taught artist, driven by pure passion and expression. Whilst drawing I feel at peace in my own reality. Take away my ability to draw, then take away my ability to breathe.
All of my work is organic in process. I start with a line or a shape then build from there. Each piece is a visual manifestation of my conscious and subconscious, rotating the page when drawing, marking out the lines that appear in my mind. It is my way of releasing raw emotions and prevents me from be self deprecating whilst doing the thing I love the most. I use ball point pens when drawing and acrylics when painting.
I choose to sign more than one corner. I believe people are free to choose how they view the drawing/world. I like to encourage this, as it can sometimes be so easily forgotten.
My art allows me freedom to absorb, digest, express and make sense of a kaleidoscopic, vibrant world and the spectrum of emotion it extracts from people. I find inspiration in nature, shapes, light, contrast, symbolism, emotions and interactions between others, as well as in my own need to constantly progress as a person/artist.
Drawing helps me escape from the monotonous and upsetting aspects of reality. Being creative tunes my ability to hyper-focus. It balances the emotional and logical aspects of my personality, whilst satisfying my obsessive nature in a positive and productive way.

You have worked very hard to develop a signature style. There is obviously hours of work put into making the creations that you do with ball point pen. The standard of these pieces is very high. Your acrylic paintings show a different side to your artistic ideas and this makes your exhibition very interesting.
